ANF Forest Road 308 Trail Cleanup 5/8/10

In cooperation with the United States Forestry Service, I am coordinating a Trail Cleanup in the Apalachicola National Forest on Saturday, May 8, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Local 4x4 clubs are invited to come out and represent their organization during this community service event. We will be removing trash found along Forest Road 308, beginning at Forest Road 325 and working towards Forest Road 326. Here is more information:

Who: Tallahassee Off Road Club and the Capital City Jeepers
What: ANF Forest Road 308 Trail Cleanup
When: May 8, 2010, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Where: Meet at the intersection of Hwy 20 and FR 325 at 7:45 am
(Parking will be along FR 325, just south of Hwy 20)
Why: To promote environmental responsibility and cooperation between local 4x4 clubs and the USFS

Bring your own work gloves and drinks, I will provide trash bags for items collected.

Let's do it! We need to get more interest in keeping things going for TORC and this is one way to do it. I think we need to start the monthly meet-n-greets again as well. At least some people will show up and it will get more people back involved. Plus the weather is great for cleaning up, riding or just hanging out.

Is there enough trash that I should bring my big trailer?

I did some scouting over the weekend, some of the household trash that was there previously has been picked up. Didn't look like enough for a large trailer. I am going to contact Cathy about another possible location...
